January ⇔ December
A rounded head plant, it has large leaves with curled edges, overlapping each other around a rather open heart.
Tender and crunchy with a particularly sweet taste, it is available all year round.
Low in calories, it is rich in vitamins A, B, C and K, and is also a good source of vitamin E and folic acid, an important substance in the formation of blood cells. It also has a refreshing, digestive, laxative, analgesic and sedative effect.
Gentilina lettuce is excellent in salads, but can also be eaten cooked, sautéed or grilled.
Perfect side dish for meat and fish dishes.
