Lettuce variety with very indented leaves, green at the base and deep red in the centre and at the edges.
Tender and crunchy, it has a particularly sweet taste. Rich in fibre, potassium and vitamins A and C, it also contains moderate amounts of vitamins D, E and K and other minerals (calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and sulphur).
It has a laxative action and mild analgesic and sedative properties. Due to its low calorie content, it is particularly suitable for low-calorie diets.
Red oakleaf lettuce is perfect for the preparation of both single and mixed salads, in combination with other vegetables.
It is also suitable for garnishing meat and fish dishes.
