Romaine Lettuce

An oval-looking head plant, it has smooth-margined, deep green, slightly blistered leaves that overlap tightly around a heart that is not completely closed, and a crunchy rib.

Low in calories, it is rich in provitamin A, which is indispensable for the well-being of the skin and the protection of eyesight, vitamin C, which fights cellular ageing and increased blood cholesterol, and mineral salts (sodium, potassium, iron, calcium, phosphorus).

It contains good quantities of folic acid (vitamin B9), essential for the well-being of the cardiovascular system and very important in pregnancy for optimal development of the unborn child.
