Variety with a thin and corrugated rind with a reticular texture and green stripes that divide it into “slices” and with a rounded shape, it has a bright yellow/orange colored juicy pulp and a sweet and intense flavor and aroma, especially when fully ripe.
Composed of 90% water, it has a high thirst-quenching and satiating power, while remaining a low-calorie fruit.
It contains a lot of iron, useful for counteracting anemia, as well as minerals such as phosphorus and calcium, which promote bone health, and beta-carotene, which helps the production of melanin. It can vary between 800 grams and 2 kilos.
The netted melon is excellent eaten alone, in fruit salads and sorbets or as an appetizer, in combination with raw ham.
