Lollo Green

A soft and tender-looking head plant with long leaves with curled, light green margins.

It has a delicate and refreshing flavour.

It has a very low caloric value as it consists mainly of water, carotenoids, iron, potassium and vitamins. In particular, it is rich in vitamin K, which is important for blood clotting and improving protein, which keeps bones healthy; and in vitamins A and C, which are essential for strengthening the immune system and fighting free radicals.

The fibre content is also excellent, helping to regularise intestinal function.

A curiosity: this lettuce, which first appeared in the 1960s, was named after the actress Gina Lollobrigida, who was considered the most beautiful woman in the world at the time.

Green Lollo lettuce is one of the most popular varieties for preparing salads, both plain and mixed.
